Convinced he was a 500 year old vampire named Vesago, Roderick J. Ferrell aka Rod Ferrel murdered a couple in their home on November 25, 1996 and became the youngest person in the United States on Death Row. Rod Ferrel was the leader of a gang called 'the Vampire Clan', which included Scott Anderson, who assisted Rod Ferrel in the murders of Naoma and Richard Wendorf. The supposed motive for the murder was simple, these were the parents of a fellow vampire cult member who did not feel like her parents treated her fairly. The Wendorfs were slain in their home with a crowbar from their garage. Days later, the vampire cult was on the run when one of the members called their mother to ask for money. The mother tipped off police which led to the arrest of seventeen year old Rod Ferrel. The jury first decided to put him on death row, which he was on for a while until his sentencing was changed to life without parole. Throughout his trial, Rod Ferrel came off as insane, unstable, and emotionally disturbed; he truly thought he was a vampire. But was this all an act? Watch the video below and decide for yourself.
