Picture
Born: January 30, 1987
Location: Broward County, Florida
Crimes Convicted Of: First Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Battery

Victim(s): Tiffany Eunick (6 years old)

When Tiffany Eunik's mother dropped her daughter off at her friend's house to babysit, she had no idea she would never see her daughter alive again. Twelve year old Lionel Tate's mother was watching the children for the day and decided to take a nap downstairs. Midway through her nap she woke up to some noise, but scolded the children from afar to quiet down. A little while later she woke up to her son, Lionel Tate, saying that he and Tiffany Eunik were wrestling when she hit her head an stopped breathing. The ambulance was called but she was already dead. Further examination of the body shed light on this case not being an accidental death; the medical examiner compared her injures to someone who had fallen off a multistory building, not harmless childhood wrestling injuries. Lionel Tate had apparently hit her so hard that she had significant damage to many of her organs such as her liver, ribs, and lungs. Because he was only twelve at the time, Lionel Tate was sentenced to a few years in a correctional facility and 10 years parole, which he violated once with a knife and once when he battered and robbed a Domino's pizza delivery man. He is currently in jail. The video below shows insight into one of Lionel Tate's competency and trial.
